Locking the JTAG PORT
Samsung ARTIK modules provide a JTAG port for factory testing and for debugging of the platform. However, JTAG is a known vulnerability since access via JTAG opens up methods to bypass internally defined security mechanisms. Samsung ARTIK s modules support Secure JTAG to protect the device from unauthorized access.
JTAG access defaults to "locked" for all Linux modules. Tizen RT modules default to "unlocked" but you can lock them for production.
Secure JTAG requires the use of a password, specific to a particular manufacturing lot of modules, to gain access to the JTAG chain. The password is associated with the serial number of the module; this information is only made available through an authorized request to Samsung. Contact Samsung ARTIK Sales for more details.
